What is
Pride in Place?
Pride in Place helps lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, intersex, asexual and queer people find housing. We support LGBTQIA+ folk who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or living in housing that is unsafe, insecure or too expensive.
We are currently operating in the Hume Merri-bek, Inner Western Metro, Outer Eastern Metro and Central Highlands areas of Victoria.
If you are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, and need support
You can access the Pride in Place service if you are:
Pride in Place is currently operating in the Hume Merri-bek, Inner Western Metro, Outer Eastern Metro and Central Highlands areas of Victoria only.
If you are homelessness or at risk of homelessness and live outside of these areas, you should contact your nearest housing and homelessness access point.
People requiring homelessness assistance can also call 1800 825 955 to be directed to the access point closest to them.
If you are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, and need support
Pride in Place is not an emergency service.
If you are at immediate risk of harm, phone 000.
If you need crisis homelessness assistance outside of business hours, phone the statewide after-hours service on 1800 825 955.

What is Pride in Place?
Pride in Place provides comprehensive, safe and inclusive recovery pathways for LGBTQIA+ people who are experiencing homelessness. Pride in Place also identifies and intervenes early to direct LGBTQIA+ people who are at risk of homelessness towards a place of safety and pathway to sustainable housing. Our services include Initial Assessment and Planning, Case Management and Coordination, Peer Navigation and Service Navigation to connect LGBTQIA+ people with the services they need, when they need them.
How will Pride in Place work with service users?
Agency and choice are at the centre of Pride in Place, with a focus on meeting people at their ‘place’ (wherever they feel safe and secure) and providing a flexible, whole-of-person and outcomes-based response.
